Одинокому дядюшке Петсону в день его рождения заботливые соседки подарили славного голосистого петуха Юсси и озорного говорящего котенка Финдуса. Вот чудеса!
Но одного умения говорить недостаточно. И вот однажды маленький Финдус сказал Юсси такое, что тот обиделся и замолчал. Грустно сделалось в доме дядюшки Петсона. Тоскливо стало на душе у Финдуса, от которого отвернулись все, даже соседский бык Матадор. И неизвестно, чем обернулись бы для героев спектакля эти неприятности, если бы… Но погодите, погодите! О том, что произойдет дальше, вы непременно узнаете, когда окажетесь в начале сказки и станете участниками неожиданной, захватывающей и, пожалуй, даже волшебной истории со счастливым финалом.

The Nicosia International Festival... never ends and AKEL, honouring the great composer Michalis Christodoulides, are organising the concert "On the edges of the coast at the end of the world", dedicated to Cypriot poetry. The concert includes songs from the Akritikos Circle of the 11th and 12th centuries, the love rhymes of the 16th century and songs from today's poetry. The backbone of this concert is the Cypriot dialect as a separate and special part of the Greek language.

«Этот спектакль мы почти не репетировали (когда вы его увидите, вы поймете, почему). И уж точно больше времени, чем на репетиции, у нас ушло на споры о том, можно ли, вообще, называть «это» спектаклем. Или правильнее говорить, что у нас появился «новый проект». «Квартетник» мы задумывали как такую… неформальную встречу со зрителями, сшитую, практически, на живую нитку; по идее, он должен каждый раз складываться по-новому, почти импровизационно, как беседа на настоящей вечеринке, которая идет от истории – к истории, от анекдота – к анекдоту. А еще нам давно хотелось рассказать, почему мы такие, какие есть; поделиться с вами нашими любимыми песнями, стихами, отрывками из любимых фильмов… всем тем, что нас воспитало, что сформировало наши вкусы и пристрастия.

About the event:

The theatrical performance "KATABASIS", presented as part of the UNDER 30 section of the Nicosia International Festival, is a meditation on human transience. It depicts a world that endlessly collapses and is endlessly erected. A world in which characters and audience alike, are not prepared to respond to the remains, to the histories, to the new world, saying goodbye to the old. Inspired by the Cypriot topographical and political landscape, through a series of perpetual deaths the piece explores the paradox between tenderness and violence. It delves into the intricate experiences of growing up within the embrace of a wounded motherland, navigating the complexities and subtleties of this intertwined existence. Reminding us how under our feet lie ruins of worlds and bones yet uncovered from wars; divided landscapes, fighting for a place in history.
